Mai (Waranun) Ekkasame is a dedicated immigration lawyer who provides exceptional service and high-quality advice to a wide range of individuals and businesses across several industries. She practices across a broad range of Australian immigration matters including individual, family and employer-sponsored migration; citizenship and the appeals process. Mai’s key focus is on achieving positive outcomes for her clients, and to ensure a streamlined migration journey for individual and corporate clients alike. Having personally experienced cultural differences and the challenges of relocating abroad, Mai understands the concerns and uncertainties clients often face in navigating Australia’s ever-changing immigration landscape. In this respect, she thoroughly enjoys devising visa strategies and simplifying the sponsorship and visa process to instill certainty and trust. Mai has a particular interest in assisting small businesses and start-up companies to source overseas workers, and has been deeply involved in the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement pilot – a joint initiative with Talent Beyond Boundaries which provide access for Australian businesses to an untapped source of skilled talent abroad.

 

Mai Ekkasame holds dual degrees in Law and Commerce (Accounting) and was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2020. In addition, she holds qualifications as both Attorney and Barrister-at-Law in Thailand, which enables her to assist clients–particularly those within the Thai community–with a strong understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural backgrounds. What sets Mai apart is her tenacity and willingness to go the extra mile for her clients.

  • Analysing notifications and decision records to advise clients in respect of their options, review right and prospects of intended or existing proceedings before the Administrative Review Tribunal
  • Assisting and representing clients in merits review proceedings before the Tribunal
